​Short Bio

Dr Alicia Leigh is a multi-published hybrid author of romance novels and non-fiction writing guides, an emerging trauma theorist, identical triplet, and complex trauma survivor. Her PhD research identified and defined the post-trauma romance (PTR) subgenre, making her the world’s leading expert on this subgenre, along with several new trauma theories. The Love Healer, written as part of her PhD thesis, is an example of the PTR subgenre. The Trauma-Informed Writer also drew on her PhD research. In addition to her PhD, Alicia holds a Master in Writing which resulted in the independent publication of her best-selling non-fiction title, The Romance Novel Formula. Dr Leigh recently completed a Post-Graduate Certificate in Psychology to compliment her trauma knowledge. A lifelong learner, she is now undertaking a Diploma of Counselling!
